My Makeup Wish List

I have just started a new job, and I am so excited to actually have some money to spend on beauty products! I thought I would create a list here in blog form, as this is the kind of blog/article I like to read and I have obviously been seriously lacking in inspiration (and motivation) lately.

And so we begin!

MAKE UP BRUSHES

I've begun to notice the holes in my makeup brush collection lately - I am particularly in need of eye blending brushes. I have heard that Aliexpress is a great place to purchase cheap brushes that are fairly equivalent (or are perhaps the same) as other more popular/expensive brands. Jessup brushes in particular are said to be rather decent in quality.

FALSE LASHES - XOBEAUTY, SOCIALEYES, RED CHERRY, ARDELL, VELOUR?

I've been watching too many beauty videos lately - why does every one of them require false lashes? I'm hankering for some! The most popular ones seem to be Red Cherry and Ardell, while I frequent the YouTube channels of Shannon Harris and Karissa Pukas who created XOBeauty and SocialEyes respectively. Velour Lashes are also on my watch list after I saw them featured by Carli Bybel a while ago and consequently stalked the website - lashes be bangin'!

MAC LIPSTICKS

After noting many online recommendations of MAC lipsticks (the usual suspects - Ruby Woo, Creme d'Nude, Rebel and so on), I had a look online to see if there was a way to sample them, and I found one! When that pay check in, I will be gathering a stash of minis so I can try before I buy (full-size) fo sho. (How stunning are all the colours in the photo btw?)

URBAN DECAY NAKED ON THE RUN PALETTE (limited edition)

The presence of Urban Decay's Naked collection across YouTube and other forms of social media is definitely to blame for my desire to possess every single item! At least on of the Flushed palettes is also on my list, but On The Run seems to contain similar products to Flushed, along with a minimalist collection of other Urban Decay essentials.

OCC LIP TARS

As with the MAC lipsticks mentioned above, OCC Lip Tars are available in sample size online... if you search hard enough. I have a particular interest in Femme, Interlace and Stalker which are a baby pink, pale peach and blue red respectively. Any of my attempts to wear lipstick seem to end in something of a catastrophe, so I hope the Lip Tars live up to their reputation!

Babes Of The Week #43 to #48 - A Singer, Actor, Models And Boy Bands

I'm almost up to date! Kind of. I think. Unfortunately, an important piece within my beloved laptop has died, and my extremely computer-literate future software/computer engineer brother tells me that it will cost about as much to replace the part as a new computer. Meanwhile other bits and pieces started crapping out as soon as the one year warranty had expired. Typisch. Anywhoo, my long long list of babes has been temporarily lost, so here are some peeps who have been particularly babin' recently. Enjoy.

BABE OF THE WEEK #43

Taylor Swift

Now I've loved Taylor Swift ever since I first heard 'Love Story'on Perez Hilton. 'Our Song' reminds me of many good times. 'Enchanted' will play at my wedding. I've been to both of her concert tours in NZ and will have to traipse across the ditch to the land of Oz later in this year due to no 1989 NZ concert #rejection. She was fo sho' on my BOW list. Just a little further down. I thought Taytay couldn't get any better. AND THEN SHE DID. In 2014, Taylor's self confidence, self assurance and all round awesomeness just seemed to grow. Perhaps it was New York? Or her leagues of hotty besties? All I can say is that her hair and makeup game in particular has been ON POINT (this is the one and hopefully only time I will use that expression). Her choppy bob/lob and crop tops have been perfection. 1989 is perfection. (My ringtone) Blank Space is perfection. (My text tone) Shake It Off is perfection. Her Insta/Twitter/Tumblr/FB/all-round-social-media-presence has been perfection. I mean who didn't want to attend the 1989 Secret Sessions or get amazing presents for Swiftmas. I think I'm going to officially declare T-Swizz Babe of 2014. She is just all that.

Jack O'Connell

Who here has watched Skins? Second generation? If so you will know and love (or love to hate) Cook. Imaginary bad boys will always be there to capture our young, naive hearts. Jack O'Connor won kudos (and awards) for his acting at the time, and has now reemerged in popular culture with a discreet potential romance with Babe of all time Cara Delevingne and a starring role in the Angelina Jolie produced and directed Unbroken. Warning: this movie trailer made me bawl.

I couldn't find a picture of him that quite captures him. I think he just has IT. Charisma, talent and all that. Thus, babe.

Kendall Jenner

I have always thought that Kendall Jenner was the most gorgeous of all the Kardashians(/Jenners). I almost think she seems to have some sort of genuine likability that the other K's (besides Khloe) somewhat lack. And I reck she may be the most down to earth. Then again, this is based off of 'reality' television, paparazzi shots and social media, so who can say. However, she has always been my favourite*. I'm jealous of her body and face and career (which I believe to be built on her own merit) and I love her style of late. In one word? Babe.

Niall Horan

Here we have my second favourite member of 1D. He used to just be adorable and giggly and not do much singing, but now a few years of millions of adoring fans, braces and scandalous trysts with pretty popstars seem to have grown him up into a confident, dreamy blond bombshell. And babe. Here you can pretend to go on a date with Niall and one past babe, and tbh probs some future babes as well:

Gisele Bündchen

Well well Gisele. Owner of the flattest stomach in the world, and some of the best hair. A past Victoria's Secret model, so that has to count for something also! Having vaguely quit modelling, Gisele is something of a tycoon now, along with being a certified MILF and full time Gridiron WAG (if such a thing exists) and babe. She just works it. I mean, look at her.

BABE OF THE WEEK #48

Ashton Irwin

So 5 Seconds Of Summer are rather young. The lead singer has such a pretty face, but my personal fave is the drummer (always the drummer) Ash, who is somewhat more age appropriate and adorable - headscarf, dimples and all. Can almost forgive the whole being Australian thing lolllzzzz. I also believe I've put my finger on why boy bands/ok rock band/whatevs are totally popular. Besides the obvious talent, looks and penises. HAHA. Social media/the internet gives us all a look into the lives of celebrities, and these guys are just boys being boys - but now we can see it. And we like to see it. We like to see them being themselves - being nice/naughty/funny/cheeky. Cheeky is good. Cheeky is bae. I mean babe. Damn these new words.

New Year, New You?

Hello and welcome to 2015!

New Year's Resolutions anyone?

I had a tough year last year so my single resolution this year is to look after myself. In every facet of that, whether it be eating well, getting fit, looking after my skin and hair, doing my make up or looking after my future with job and career opportunities. 

It's also a resolution that allows for hiccups, and left me stepping into the new year with some semblance of self confidence, rather than with a hangover and a panic attack like some of my friends!

I feel like my blog has been a massive work in progress since it's inception, and I can't (and shouldn't) promise that that will change, but I can endeavour to make it the kind of blog that I would enjoy reading. 

To begin this year I am aiming to consistently post one of my creeper BOW (Babe of the Week) posts, a short post with a link to my latest YouTube video and another post on beauty or some other topic each week. I will try my best to do this, and can hopefully add to this in the future.

I couldn't quite find any images that quite captured his beauty, but I started crushing on this guy ever since I watched that BOTW#1 Miley Cyrus' movie 'LOL'. He is just so beautiful. I also thought he was really English model looking, despite being American in the film, and lo and behold I was actually right! He also just seems like such a sweetheart. Yummay. Babe.

Umm just look at her face. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE. Perfection. I've totes wished I could look like that, ever since the time of the first 'Transformers' movie. Girl gives good face. At least I can try to copy her make up. She's toned down her persona since have bebe and that makes her even more likeable, even though I've been girl crushing/crushing on her in general since forevs, Crazy gorgeous BABE.

Okay there's a reason Jessica Alba has been called hottest woman in the world and all that. She's such a beaut, and I always have such body envy, more so pre babies to be fair. I did some serious watching of The Glee Project, and though Samuel and his weirdo character have been sadly missing from the latest episodes of Glee, I still reck he and his beautiful soul are babin'. Though I kind of miss his dreads. Weirdly.
